 |
| How do I know I will be able to get availability?  Go to top |
La Crosse Boat Club limits its membership to a ratio of 5 members per boat. Everytime we add 5 new members we by another boat. This member:boat ratio is one half the industry average.
In addition to limiting membership, we also ensure availability by limiting members to 6 reservations on the calendar at a time. But because you can put up to 6 reservations on at a time you can always be assured that you will have a boat available for the dates you want them. |
 |
| Can I use more than one boat at a time?  Go to top |
One of the goals of the club is to have a boat available for members to use whenever they want one. Therefore, it is not possible to use more than one craft at a time.
The only exception to this is when using the Kayaks. The Kayaks are single person Kayaks and the reservation system automatically reserves two of them for you.
NOTE: The Kayaks are not factored into the 5:1 member:boat ratio - WE DO NOT ADD MORE MEMBERS WHEN WE BUY KAYAKS - the Kayaks are provided as a free service of the club. |

| No, we provide free training for all of our club members. |
 |
| Can I bring guests with me?  Go to top |
| Yes, you can bring as many people as the boat you are using is rated for. |
 |
| How many people can I have on my membership contract?  Go to top |
| Each contract is allowed to have two names from one household on the contract. One of the two named people must be driving the boat. No other people are allowed to operate the watercraft. |
 |
| Can I share a membership plan with a friend?  Go to top |
Yes. We have a BUDDY PLAN which allows two people not living in one household as a family to join the club together.
Our experience has been that when two people join and they are not co-habitating as a family the usage of the boats increases approximately 30% over a family membership. Because of this increased use the club need to provide more boats to maintain availability levels. That is why you will notice that a buddy plan costs more than a regular membership. |
 |

| Yes, any member who has purchased the $100 Party Boat plan can use the Party Boat as many times as they wish. |
 |

| We have different membership plans, but no matter which plan you choose you will find membership is more convenient than boat ownership and just a small fraction of the cost of ownership. |
 |
| What happens if I cancel a reservation?  Go to top |
Cancellations are never a problem. However, the more advance notice you can give, the greater the chance that another club member can use the boat that day. If you do not cancel your reservation and do not use the boat you will be assessed a $10 per reservation fee.
The purpose of the fee is to encourage all members to respect fellow members and cancel boats that you are not going to use. |
 |
| What happens if I damage a boat?  Go to top |
| Just like owning your own boat - you are responsible for all propellor damge and and insurance deductible of up to 5% of the boats value. On the Party Boat you are responsible for damage up to 1% of the boats value. |
